Swarovski Crystal Light Gold Pearl Wedding Lasso in Gold

This wedding lasso design is new to my family of rosaries, and was requested by a client who was kind enough to let me use her photos!

The traditional Wedding Cord is also known as the Wedding Lasso or a Wedding Lazo. It is used during a Christian Catholic wedding ceremony. A figure-eight shape is placed around the neck areas of the bride and groom after they have made their wedding vows...showing the couple's love has no beginning or end. The number eight in the Bible is also the number of new beginnings.

This Lasso symbolizes a lifetime of unity or the everlasting union of the bride and groom. It also symbolizes the union of two into one in Christ and His Blessed Mother. While this tradition has it's roots in the Mexican, Filipino and Spanish descent, this tradition is sweeping into wedding ceremonies across the world. It has been welcomed into the wedding ceremonies of Roman Catholic churches throughout the USA in place of the Unity Candle.

I created this design using 10mm Swarovski Crystal Light Gold Pearls for the Aves and 12mm Swarovski Crystal Light Gold Pearls for the Paters. Each link is hand turned by me. Surrounding each Pater is a pair of Swarovski gold AB Crystal Rondelles and 4mm Swarovski AB bicone crystal beads.

To create the necessary length, I added gold plated chain between each decade. The length of each individual rosary is 24" (48" inside loop), another 12" to main center with another 13" to tip of crucifix. All together, from top of rosary loop to tip of crucifix is 49". Although it is a substantial lasso, it only weighs 8.6 ounces!

The rosary also has one 2" gold plated Fleur de Lis crucifix and three gold plated fancy heart Miraculous Medal centers. Both center and crucifix have beautiful detail and are made in Italy.

As was described, each individual loop is a full rosary from beginning prayers to center to all five decades. Joining each individual rosary is a one crucifix, one set of beginning prayers and the first rosary center. The symbolism is complete...two become one in Christ rooted in the Blessed Mother!
